The reason why I love sales is because I can talk to all different kinds of people. I love finding ways of communicating effectively enough that people want to give you money. Remember we are all human, and people buy from people. So do your very best to become a people person. For me this was super hard as I was naturally shy, but I worked on myself using self help books and online course. Then dove in with two feet, straight into the deep end, I applied for a sales job with Sofology and on my first year I managed to sell 900,000 which pissed me off because i missed the 1M mark. But this was through constant learning and developing my communication and likability. I became so likable that customers were writing reviews about me on TrustPilot and other customers would come looking for me based on these reviews.

Sales isn’t for everyone. Fact. But if you have your own business, sales is the air you breathe to stay alive. No business can survive very long without sales.  

As a business owner, you need to know how to sell, and how to keep your customers coming back for more. As a business owner, it’s important that you know how to sell to your current customers. If you can do this, you can create more sales, and increase your profits.

The sales process is a three part process; the first step is to identify the prospect, then develop a relationship with them, and finally closing the sale. The sales process can be broken down into further: identifying the need, developing the opportunity, presenting the offer, and following up.

But if you cant sell or hate talking to people what do you do? Well you pay someone to do it for you. Hiring a sales person is easy. You need someone who is confident, willing to learn, and can communicate effectively. 

You need to find a candidate who fits in with your team, culture, and values, and also has the right skill set. 

Training and Development 

Once you have a sales person teach them about your product and business, this is the most important step. They need to be able to talk confidently about your products or service without sounding like a bumbling idiot. So make sure they know your product like the back of their own hand. 

Focusing on sales training mindset. The mind set is super important in sales, you want your staff to be positive and upbeat. Would you want to buy from a Debbie Downer? Would that leave a lasting impression? Probably, but it would be a wrong one.
